The Quechua Route to the north of Puno offers a journey through three significant attractions: Lampa, Pukará, and Sillustani. In Sillustani, its chullpas, funerary towers up to 12 meters high, stand out amidst the breathtaking Andean landscape. Lampa, known as the “Pink City,” is a historical monument with valuable architectural heritage, featuring the Santiago Apóstol Temple, its catacombs, and a replica of Michelangelo’s Pietà. Pukará, an ancient pre-Inca culture, is distinguished by its ceremonial pyramids, stone stelae, and traditional ceramics, such as the iconic “Torito de Pukará,” a symbol of prosperity. This tour combines history, archaeology, and art in a unique natural setting.

7:00 am Pick you up from your hotel and head northwest of Puno. After a 43-km drive, we’ll arrive at the Sillustani archaeological complex. We’ll hike to visit the site, where you can learn about the archaeological remains of the pre-Inca and Inca cultures, and enjoy some free time for photography.  Then we continue to Lampa, where, after a 1.5-hour drive, we’ll explore the history of Puno’s colonial era. You’ll visit one of Peru’s oldest libraries, which houses a well-preserved replica of La Piedad, and walk through the catacombs inside the Santiago Apóstol Church.

Then we continue our journey to Pukará, where after a 45-minute drive, we’ll arrive at the Plaza de Armas for lunch and a short break. We’ll visit the Pukará Archaeological Complex (Kalasaya Temple) and the on-site museum. Finally, we’ll stop at an exclusive workshop to observe  the “Torito de Pukará,” a symbol of protection and prosperity. You’ll participate in a painting demonstration. Afterward, we’ll return to Puno.
